IT’S PRECEPT TIME!
It’s that time of year when Alston Moor Parish Council are accepting larger grant applications
The deadline for applications over £300 is 30th November 2025
These are known as Precept Grants.
Applications up to £300 can be applied for throughout the year. These are known as Community Grants.
The grant application must include the following:-
1. A copy of your organisations written constitution or details of your aims and purpose.
2. Full details of the project or activity.
3. Demonstration that the precept grant will be of benefit to the local community within the parish.
4. The proportion or number of beneficiaries living in the electoral area.
5. Demonstration of a clear need for the funding.
6. A copy of your previous year’s accounts or, for new initiatives, a detailed budget and business plan.
7. A copy of your organisation’s latest bank statement.
8. Evidence of other awards towards the project eg lottery funding, other bodies.

Alston Moor Parish Council has put in place secure and modern IT systems to protect council business and personal data.
All councillors now use official council email addresses on tablets on loan to councillors for the duration of their term of office. Our website meets national accessibility standards.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), have adopted GDPR policies, and provide training to councillors and staff.
Council information is stored securely, only kept as long as necessary, and handled in line with the law. In short — we are fully compliant with national requirements and committed to keeping residents’ data safe and our digital services open, accessible, and transparent.
Road Closures
Road and Footpath closures are the responsibility of Westmorland and Furness Council and other statutory authorities. Information about local road closures can be found here on the WFC website.
